Keith Airey, the company founder and Managing Director, started repairing tail lifts in 1987 out of his garage at home. As Keith’s reputation grew, “Keith Airey Tail Lift Engineering” began to expand beyond a single engineers capabilities. Due to the ever-increasing work load, Keith began employing and training staff to offer a comprehensive 24hr service to all his customers.
As the company continued to grow it became time to uplift the company from a home garage into a yard and port-a-cabin office. With the business and work force rapidly continuing to grow it wasn’t long before the business needed substantial facilities to cope with the array of equipment being maintained.
In 2004 Tail Lift Engineering purchased a unit on Sefton Lane Industrial Estate in Maghull which was currently being used as a blacksmiths shop. The entire property was transformed into a custom designed Tail Lift workshop and office facility. It is from this depot that Tail Lift Engineering has operated from up to the current day.
In 2013 Tail Lift Engineering purchased the adjoining units on Sefton Lane Industrial Estate to further expand its capabilities.
